The Helix
Booz Allen Hamilton Center for Innovation
For more than a century,
Booz Allen has helped move critical missions forward.
From accelerating the future of global defense, healthcare, and climate science to catalyzing intelligence breakthroughs and advancements in outer space, Booz Allen delivers tomorrow’s solutions today.
At The Helix, Booz Allen’s Center for Innovation, the focus is on showcasing how their expertise at the crossroads of mission and technology addresses the U.S. government's most pressing challenges.
Architecture firm OTJ and Booz Allen enlisted Evoke Collaborative and our partner, Jason Livingston of Studio T+L, to develop an immersive and functional lighting design for their new flagship venue in Washington DC.
Our solution, an organic and all-encompassing design, features a 400-foot-long curvilinear light fixture that interacts with each video wall. Known as "the digital river," this design integrates the screen content into the room itself. The venue also includes a "TED Talk-style" stage with specialized event lighting and various other lighting elements to accentuate projects, events, and workspaces. Additionally, Evoke and Studio T+L provided task lighting for conference rooms, labs, and workspaces. The result is a strikingly elegant venue that will meet Booz Allen’s needs for years to come.
